Can I pawn something if I have a loan out on it?
You must own the item in order to pawn it and for a pawnshop to make a cash loan. Pawning an item does require ownership.
 
Can I pawn something if it was a gift?
If you own the item, yes you can pawn it! And as long as the pawn shop will accept the item then you are all set.
 
Are there any items that pawn shops will not take?
Local pawn shops have seen everything you can imagine. If you have any questions on whether a pawn shop would be interested in your items, call them first. Before they can determine how much money they would loan on an item, they do need to inspect it first.

Getting cash on your items from a pawn shop is easy to do and the pawnbroker will take a careful look at your items and determine what they are worth. The pawn broker will then loan you a percentage of that value.
